Aina Imagery Completes Rebrand

Honolulu, HI – Aina Imagery, a fine art photography gallery based in Hawaii Kai, is pleased to announce the rebranding of their company.

Photographer and young entrepreneur Andrew Honda founded Aina Imagery in 2009. Over the last three years, Andrew has been busy photographing and producing world class imagery. Traveling around the Hawaiian Islands, shooting high above the clouds in a helicopter and capturing images while swimming in the surf, Andrew continually seeks to capture unique angles in nature.

With a penchant for dramatic landscapes, Andrew has been honing his craft and technique with each new landscape that he photographs with his Linhof Panoramic camera. Every panorama that Andrew photographs on film reveals the grandeur of nature, capturing textures and an intimacy that now seems to be largely missing from the world of modern day digital photography.

Andrew was drawn to the analog process that shooting on film provides. Requiring greater precision, it’s Andrew’s personal belief that shooting panorama’s on film is the only way to do justice to the immense landscapes. After strolling through Aina Imagery’s Hawaii Kai gallery, it is readily apparent that film provides an extra warmth and dimension to the landscapes.

Aina Imagery would like to thank our customers who continue to support our mission of inspiring lovers of nature with gorgeous, world class imagery.

Arches National Park

I recently spent 7 days in Moab, Utah. For the longest time, I have dreamed of exploring and photographing Arches National Park. Sometimes when you have spent so much time dreaming about a place, the reality can be slightly disappointing. I’m happy to report back that Moab was even better than I had dreamed it would be.

The arid desert was filled with a natural beauty that is practically indescribable. Arches National Park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, and each arch was absolutely perfect. The area is a photographer’s dream due to the different hues of light reflecting off the red sandstone. During dusk and dawn the place had an ethereal ambience. I couldn’t help but feel small and insignificant during the time I spent in the geological wonderland.

That windswept desert is nature’s cathedral and was further proof to me that the Earth is perfect. I am extremely fortunate to travel to new places in search of beauty for my job. Each destination has its own unique allure, and capturing those panoramic landscapes with my Linhof Technorama camera is a process that brings me joy. Since the camera shoots film, with only four pictures per roll, it forces me to hunt for the perfect shot. Once I have found my angle, I take four different exposures. These four exposures allows me the chance to really experiment with the light. I’ve been shooting with the Linhof for the past two years, and in my opinion, it’s the only way to do justice to the immense landscapes.

2012 has been a great year for Aina Imagery. As you might have noticed with the website, Aina Imagery is getting a rebrand. I hope you are as stoked with it as I am.
